We reveal some of the secrets of the skin hero that dates back over 3000 years
Black Seed Oil is one of my most beloved ingredients and is the deep-cleansing, calming powerhouse in Purity Gentle Cleansing Oil. Here are five reasons why I love it:
1. Ancient civilisations used Black Seed as a medicine and it has been described as 'a cure for everything but death!'. It's mentioned in the Old Testament, the Quran and was even found in the tomb of the Tutankhamun (we can only assume he wanted a good cleanser to take to the afterlife!)
2. It's high in linoleic acid which makes it a great ingredient to use on acne-prone skins. People with acne are often low in linoleic acid so the addition of this oil can have a really balancing impact to the skin
3. It has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, making it great for inflamed or irritated skin. Purity users with psoriasis, eczema and rosacea have found it incredibly calming
4. It's the ingredient that gives Purity its beautiful, slight-spicy herbal scent
